Kentucky 100 points records

Wayne Oakley, 1954-55 Hanson High School guard  scored a Kentucky high school record 114 against the undermanned Uniontown St. Agnes Knights team in a 128-26 decision.  Dec. 21, 1954. Final score should have read: Hanson won by Kentucky state record of 102 points. Two state records were set in that game in the Hanson Gym on Dec. 21, 1954 night.

The most points by an individual player: 114 points

The biggest victory margin in KHSAA game; 102 points

Final score should have read:

Wayne Oakley, 114, St.Agnes. 26.

The rest of the Hanson squad combined for 14 points total.

The only other player to score 100 points in a single from the state of Kentucky was Cobin, KY native Frank Selvy, who starred for Furman College from 1952-1954, against Newberry College of S. C. Selvy hit 41 of 66 FG, and 18 of 22 FT, in a winning effort, 149-95. First team all-american Frank Selvy was named national player of the year in 1954. Selvy also lead the nation in scoring in the 1952-53 and the 1953-54 seasons. The 6' 5" Selvy went on to future greatness in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers. Selvy made all-NBA all-star team seven times in his lustrous 10 year pro career.

Nicknamed The Corbin Comet, Selvy on February 13th, 1954, became the only NCAA Division I player ever to accomplish that feat. Through the 2009-10 season Selvy today still remains the only player in Division I NCAA basketball history to score 100 points in a single game.
